As the cannabis industry continues to grow worldwide, there are many individuals who have been working to educate people and build communities around cannabis. One such individual is Theresa Kozak, who has been at the forefront of the cannabis industry since Canada first legalized medical cannabis. Today, Theresa is the Co-Creator and Director of Recreate Plant Medicine, an organization dedicated to educating people on the benefits of cannabis and traditional healing practices.
Exploring Cannabis Culture and Community
Theresa's expertise in the Canadian cannabis industry has allowed her to draw comparisons with Jamaica in terms of culture, community, business, and law.
Partnerships with Cannabis Dispensaries
Theresa has formed partnerships with cannabis dispensaries such as Itopia Life, which provides education and training to Jamaicans through its ‘Ganja Guru’ course. This partnership allows people to learn about the benefits of cannabis, how to use it, and how to grow it. This knowledge is vital in communities where cannabis is an essential part of traditional healing practices.
Recreate: Plant Medicine
Theresa has also been working alongside the Rastafari Indigenous community in Jamaica to form Recreate: Plant Medicine. This retreat is guided by Rastafari principles, and it aims to enhance mind-body connection and promote healing through the use of cannabis and traditional healing practices. Theresa believes that by partnering with the Rastafari community, she can help to promote the benefits of cannabis while also preserving traditional healing practices.
